Toyota Wish Night Light

When Grant took me to view the newly launched faced lift Taiwan Toyota Wish, they gave us welcome gifts. It was a Toyota Wish Night light!

This light carries the JDM logo as the Taiwan market has switched over to standardized logo. When you switch off the light, it glows in the dark too! Great for children's rooms! But alas, I have no kids, so I gave it away.

Roof Soundproof problem again!

Arrgh, the roof sound proof is giving me problems again!! So back to AutoSavers again!

Now the 3M Thinsulate fabric is 'drooping', causing the roof to gag during operations.

Apparently, this is the first time they have this problem. For most other cars with sunroof, the clearance between the roof and the glass is higher. For Toyota Wish, it seems to be much lower. Hence, there's only so much you can put in that gap.

Anyway, finally give up and removed the 3M Thinsulate that's above the recessed roof area. Let's see how it goes.

Orange alert!!

Well...this is orange. So it's obviously going on Raymond's car. Present from my Taiwan friend, Grant, to the Orange/Blue marque.

Anyone knows what is it? Hee Hee.

Will post up a finished picture later, but it's going to make Raymond's car more European in outlook. Watch for it.

Metallic Blue Wish Emblems

Ok. We have the standard chrome and gold emblems, then we have the painted ones. After that, we had black/smoked chrome versions.

Now...metallic blue (or actually any color) chrome!!!

What will the Japanese think of next!

Actually, I think it looks quite nice. Perhaps for those with matching Endless brakes? From Yahoo Japan.

Ended

Ok. The endless indecisiveness on brake upgrade has finally ended. I bit the bullet and went for it.

As I've said earlier, the Endless wagon 6 option is now out.

Finally opted for Endless 6 pot (EC603) front and Endless micro 6 pot (EC620) rear option. It's the extreme right and left one in the pictures.

It will be fited with 330 mm front and 286 mm rear rotors. Both are 2 piece construction, ventilated and slotted.

The four pot is no less impressive, but heck, let's go all the way!

Twin exhaust modification

Was at Lao Pi's place again this week and obviously he did something new to his car again. Center twin exhaust modification!!

From the above, you can see that it's not just a cosmetic program. It's the real stuff.

I think the overall workmanship is very good and the styling works well. However, the rear fog lamp seems to take a bit of attention away from the exhaust.

Endless Brake hose!

Endless again... sign....

Anyway, was at Motorworld to pick up Raymond's full stainless brake hose and had a chat with them. They just visited Plot's factory was informed that the drum brake for Toyota Wish hose is in development.

Interesting, Plot's Swageline also makes hose for the racing teams like Subaru's STI, Daihatsu, etc. But they do not make for TRD. I think that's by Mocal. More interestingly, they make for...ENDLESS!!

Same swivel connect and attachments. Latest development in Endless Brake hose is also announced in Plot's Swageline webpages. But those from Endless seem thinner. Wonder if Motorworld can get Endless brake hose as well then. Oh well, I already have the Swageline brake hose. Should be good enough.

Taiwan NFL G model speedometer

This is the speedometer on the Taiwan Toyota Wish G model. On the J, E and Z models, it's the 3 ring speedometer

As I've incorrectly pointed to Raymond, I thought it was red, like the JDM and Thai NFL meters. However, it's indeed orange.

Here are some actual pictures of the meter by CKS from Taipei.

A close up on the orange 240 dial.

Tempting, but I think I'll pass. No power to hit 240 km/h.

Taiwan Launches Face Lifted Toyota Wish

Last week, Grant and I went to look at the newly launched face lifted Taiwan Toyota Wish in the flesh!

All minor changes, mostly cosmetic. They've dropped the weired looking Wish logo and have chosed to use the JDM version instead.

Yup. It was decorated with bows and ribbons. I had to control my laughter when I first saw it. As you can see, the side door garnish is now lowered. At first, I didn't quite like it, but I suppose it grows on you. Head/tail lights have been changed. Bonnet and front grill and bumper also changed. Side mirror has been changed too.

Interior changes not radical. Steering wheel. Speedometer have been changed. 2 types. Angle adjustable armrest for driver's side. But it seems that the motorized seats options were taken out. Anyway, I've always loved the ash grey wood panelling. Aircon panel now looks like the JDM NFL model also.

Oh. They've change the handles to the two tone type! But unfortunately, not the LEXUS LS 430 type. It's the Camary version. Shame!!

No visible changes in the engine bay.

I'm sure there's lots more accessories coming. Just you wait!!

New Floor Mats!

I've always envied the nice thick plush Original Toyota Wish carpet that THE BOSS has on his ride. Finally, I decided to get a set for myself and make my ride just a bit closer to his.

Here's a few close up pictures.

Overall, the color scheme goes well with my car, all black and grey. Some might say it's a boring color, I suppose it also a safe option.

Oh, the Wish emblem is actually a die cast aluminum logo that's embeded on the front two piece. Nice!

Actually, Toyota also have another checkered design which is just as attractive. This one has embroidered logo and red sitching. Perhaps more suitable for the Z and X Aerosports model?

PowerSlot Brake options

Powerslot. Something that I was looking at sometime ago when Justin told me about it. Also saw it at the con shop Silent at Commonwealth. I would rather get it from shops like Merlin Auto at Ang Mo Kio.

Anway, they have a slotted rotor replacement for Toyota Wish. Priced around S$380.

Basically, this replaces your stock rotor, without any changes to your brake set at all. It is the same size as your stock rotor. Obviously right? Otherwise how to fit.

This is the Powerslot plus upsize brake kit. It offers a larger rotor (324 mm). Price should be in the region of S$880 to S$980.

With a larger rotor, the brake caliper will need to be moved. So this set comes with a mounting braket for your caliper as well.

The bracket seems well finished. CNC machined parts.

USA product, but brake performance gain should be marginal. Hmm...

JDM NFL Z Speedometer

Hmm.. Seem like everyone likes the NFL type of meter very much. Japan, Taiwan and Thailand Wish are all using this meter now..

If I were to consider changing, I will go for the JDM 180km/h version. The speed readings are more evenly spaced out.

Original Toyota Part No: 83800-68120

Functionally, it's fully compatible with the 1.8 L Wish (hey, it's JDM on JDM right?). However, the gear shift shows "M" instead of "S" when you are in the shiftmatic mode, unlike the Thai version. Otherwise, all other functions is fully working, including the fog light indicator.

Honestly, it does nothing for my car. Purely cosmetic change. Let's see how it goes.

Thai 240 km NFL Speedometer

Sudden interest in this meter. Justin and I saw it back at He Xing so many months ago for S$780 per piece.

Anyway, arranged for a brand new set to test on THE BOSS' car and here is what it looks like.

Tempting.... but 240 km/h? Nah... my car will never go that fast. Or rather, I don't have the balls to go that fast.

To Endless or not to Endless...

The original intention for the Endless Wagon 6 Pot is now no longer a consideration. There are even better options.. But whilst the spirit is willing, the pocket is weak...

Anway, whilst considering the other options, here are something else interesting.. ENDLESS Racing 12!!! 12 piston of pure stopping power!!

Besides the trademark blue, Endless brake calipers are also available in black and red. Other colors are now available and here are two interesting finishing

Chrome!! Chrome!! The Ultimate Bling!

For the more discrete (like John), the gun metal finishing is now available.

Man! Look at all these boxes of Endless brake calipers waiting to get out on to the streets!

Oh... and of course, Japanese companies have race queens at their trade shows and Endless is no different. Me like the two at the second row.

But the question remains..

I sold my Toyota Wish!!!

Ok. My dad manage to trade in my car for a whooping S$46,000 today!!! Solid!

This is my new ride. Anyone can guess which model is this? Hint: Fully kit! And don't insult me by telling me it's the lowly graded Aeras! Hee Hee! Should be ready in a week or so. Opted for black color again!

Bye bye Wish. Hello Estima!

Cheers,
