Punggol Gathering 29/06/07

Another gathering at Punggol. I always get lost going there, even with my trusty GPS. But eventually, I found my way there.

This session is a DIY Sound Proof session. Wireless (Teddy) was there doing up his ride, with a few other Wish Owners.

Definitely big project. I think by 2 a.m., only the front row was completed. Good thing I got mine done commercially. I don't think I can 'tahan' just a big DIY project.

Also, got to see Lim's new front bumper!! Nice! One piece type.

And we have a WCM member there as well, with Y2 and Wong. Wide fender kit, LX Mode emblem. Quite a cool ride indeed.

Something else of interest, reflective stickers! Looks very sharp when you take flash pictures!! This one belongs to Wildbear (Teddy).

Kallang Meet up 18 May 2007

It's been a while since I last went for any of these meetup.

Allan has brought in the short bonnet/hood damper and they are collecting it there. Since it requires no drilling, it's a DIY installation.

As you can see, one installer, and 1 assistant and 10 commentator.

Visibily, this damper is a lot shorter than the previous version. Obviously, the first car (actually the only one) to be installed during the evening belongs to THE BOSS.

Anyway, after the session, about 10 to 12 of us when to Fei Fei for wanton mee. All the Wish travelling on the small roads is really quite a sight!

Rims for Toyota Wish

Here are some of the rims that I saw at the photoshoot. There's probably plenty more that are nice, but so many cars, so little time...

I know for sure this one goes up to 19 inches and is also available in polished chrome. Nice.......

Deep dish type. Fabulous replica in black. Also available in 18 inches.

I've always been partial to rims with red trim. Perhaps John can appreciate this. But the spokes are slightly less than ideal for me. Sure to get scratched.

Edge to edge and curved inwards. Simple, but might just be a bit too plain.

Big and Bling. Nuff said. Polish till hand pain for sure.

Hot Stuff Photoshoot

A photoshoot was organised on Feb 11 to feature the Wish Club. About 120 cars gathered for this event to showcase the car and the club for Hot Stuff magazine.

An impressive event and obviously the organisers got more than they can handle. As can be seen from this photo, the cars were lined all the way to the back of Carpark A at Marina South.

And there's more Wishes at the side still waiting to be lined up. Obviously the color coded arrangement didn't work too well.

The location could not accomodate that many cars and some didn't even borther to wait to finish the shoot before they left. Towards the end, it became a bit of a mess. That's my car in the front!! But I don't think that part will be seen in the final photo. The photographer came with a obsolete Sony 707. That camera does not have a wide enough lens to cover the event. Shame.

The front part is still quite neat and looks quite impressive. Thank goodness the rain didn't last too long and in the end, the weather held out.

And finally the folks who make it all happen by being there. Great work!

I think all in all, everyone had fun with a few members feeling left out and clueless. It cannot be helped. However, I would say that the learnings from the event would be...

01. The location needs to be recced with the photographer before hand to determine the layout and formation.

02. The lighting condition needs to be check. Fill flash cannot reach such a large area and an extremely high contrast picture will suffer from lack of details.

03. A loud hailer will be useful to move things in the right direction.

04. Someone can sell drinks there and raise funds for the club as well as to take care of members.

Can't wait to see the pictures in the magazine!!

TWC on newspaper!

The Wolf Clan made it to the Chinese newspaper today!

William got married and the wolf clan was the wedding convoy.

These are the rides that made the event.

And the brothers that own the ride!

Wet gathering!!

It was a wet day today, so the photoshoot didn't happen. Instead, the gathering adjourned to the multi-storey carpark behind the old Airport Road hawker center. Still, it was a huge turn out and several familiar faces turned up. As you can see, again all the cars in the lots were Toyota Wish and there were a lot more that were not in the photos.

This must be one of the most inspected car as it had an I.C.E. system powerful enough to throw a street party.

As you can see, there is no boot space. All taken up by the I.C.E. set up, with the amplifiers and woofers.

The rear door pillar was also converted to house the speakers that points backwards. Obviously, the intention is to blast music outside the back of the car.

Here's a customised A pillar, with a set of oversize mid range speakers. Looks really out of place.

Besides, the I.C.E. system, there were trays and customised console.

Racing gauges were mounted everywhere where there is space, including 2 at the door where the tweeters were suppose to be.

Impressive? Definitely!! Practical? Maybe.... Anyway, here are 3 pre face lift Toyota Wish with add on lip or diffuser. Nice. Wonder if Henry's look anything like this.

Wolf Gang Meetup 24/11/06

Here are the photos from last night's gathering. Nothing much as I got there pretty late and we left for Ah Lim's father's wake shortly thereafter.

These angel eyes were attracting quite a fair bit of attention. Here are the pictures with and without flash.

From the picture, you can see that the paintwork is not consistent. The bumper and the G Square replica bonnet garnish is different in color when compared to the bonnet.

Andy's abflug spoiler. Seem to be slighty higher on the right side than the left side. If you are okay with the less than perfect third brake light installation, I suppose this can be a consideration.

The only X Aerosports in the Wolf Gang. Love the red interior and I'm considering this car mat too.

Henry and I was looking at a lot of the rims that day and this was one of those I like.

The white wish that is marked by ROV. Got caught for a whole shibang of modifications that would otherwise not be a problem for the rest of us. Gialla kit with a pre face lift bonnet garnish from AMS. Seems like he gets a lot of things from Andy. Anyway, the interior is sprayed to white color. A bit too much contrast for my liking. Besides, it makes the car look a lot less classy. Then again it may just be the light. I recall seeing a white Wish with a similar interior but it looked so much better.

Feather boas and Garson stickers. VIP style does not seem to be that popular here. Although we do see an occasional vehicle making an effort. I wanted to put feather boas too, but of course the guys said it was ugly and it traps dust. Seems like everything I like is either "ah pek" or ugly.

Here's a pre face lift Wish that's heavily custom styled. Whilst some like the Japanese "Gundam" effect, I thought it looked quite busy. The sleekness of the Toyota Wish seems discounted.

Some of the guys at the meet up. I think it's KC, John, Andrew and Thomas. Can't recall who is at the extreme right.

Interior of the head light painted matt black. Pseudo-Euro style, but lack a bit of chrome. Nevertherless, I thought the workmanship seems pretty good.

Anyway, that's all folks.

Wish Club meet up 16/11/06

Went to meet the guys last night at Sin Min Golf Course for a gather and it was quite a turn out. Plenty of fully modded rides as well as new comers looking for inspiration.

Everything single vehicle in this picture is a Wish and there is more on the other side of the parking lot as well as behind me.

Another view of the thirty over Toyota Wish that turned up for this gathering. Too bad the camera ran out of battery after a few super long exposure. Forgot to charge it yesterday. Shame.

Cheers,
