TRD Sportivo Suspension installed!!

Had time today so sent the car in again for the long overdued installation.

The complete TRD Sportivo Suspension setup consist of 3 components. The 2 piece stabilizer set, the coil spring set and the shock absorber set. All sold separately.

The front and rear stabilizer set are quite long so they are packed in the big long box. The coil springs are pack in the brown box and the shock absorbers are in the white box. These 2 items alone are about 20 kg.

Anyway, more details later!

Cheers,

Two Tone chrome handle!!

Very elusive item. I have seen it in Macau and practically nowhere else. But today, Lim, Victor and I was staring at it right here in Singapore. Unbelieveable!!

Obviously, I need mine in 209 black instead of silver. However, most folks seem to think that I'm crazy for wanting such an item when full chrome handles are the in thing. Some suggested stickers, but somehow, stickers does not work quite well. For me at least.

Cheers,

More emblems again!

This is the one from LX Mode. Will fit the rear and front, but not many will know what it means. About S$140 each. Insane price.

This is an original Toyota Limited Edition emblem. Again, like the black version posted earlier, it's in clear acrylic but with a white background. Very nice!

I know one particular white color Toyota Wish that will look great with this white Limited Edition emblem on the boot door. Wonder if anyone willing to sponsor this little project?

18 inch sports club

So many Toyota Wish with 18 inch sports rims around. What a terrible influence on the rest of us....

This classic 5 spoke sprayed to body color. Superb match.

Gram lights 57 - light weight concept Japanese rim for the few who can afford. Oh.. notice the white springs inside? It's the TRD Sportivo set!!!

Hybrid mesh design with two tone 15 spokes that looks like 5 spokes when dark. Magic effect.

Deep dish type with 5 black spokes and polished lip. And for those of you who noticed the spring, yes, it's red.

If only my rims also comes in 18 inch.... sigh...............

Kind Toyota Wish Owner

Commendable!

I was fixing my windscreen wiper when I saw this valiant young man (who owns a very smart looking black Toyota Wish) helping an elderly lady with her groceries to cross the road.

I'm not going to reveal his identity here, but from his vehicle in the foreground, you can clearly see the 'devil's claw' on the handle and the eagle eye side marker. The side mirror is also a dead giveaway.

If you are reading this, those of us who saw it were duly impressed with your act of kindness. I'm sure what goes around, comes around.

Clear head light

The orange signal light peeping through the clear head lamp is an eyesore for me. Got it changed today with Henry's help. Easy process and financially managable. This is the original/stock option.

We got these Phillips bulbs from Autobacs, but you can get it from a lot of other shops as well. Notice the tip of the bulb is silver coated.

And this is the end result. Much nicer now. Very European style presentation. The orange portion is hardly visible now.

Fierce Wish

Was at this special Wish workshop in Taipei earlier and met up with the owner CKS. This is his ride and it looks totally coverted into a JDM model externally. NFL head lights with angel eyes, PFL bonnet, NFL Toyota Package B front bumper kit. Wide body kit. Even real air vents at the side of the car. Fierce!!!!

More pictures here.

Silent Force Revolution Muffler

I was driving beside Robin and he just vroommm pass me. Couldn't catch up even if I floor the accelerator. I know my car is heavy due to all the sound proofing and heavy rims, but the low end torque really needs to be improved.

So... what options are there? Besides the exhaust modification, there are after market solutions as well. But they need to be approved by LTA with the correct paperwork.

This is Silent Force Revolution Muffler from Trust and is made for Wish. Available for ZNE10G and ANE10G. However, it may not be suitable for Toyota Wish 2.0 G version and X model fitted with original Toyota package A and B bodykits. Hmm... shame about that as I like the package A bodykit. Pipe diameter is at 52 mm and the tail diameter is at 102 mm. At 4500rpm the noise is only 90 dB. The stock muffler is at 84 dB. Cost JPY 50400. The MX, PEII and DowMax series might be too 'powerful' for my taste.

More details here.

Simota Carbon Charger

Somebody has a new toy!!!

This is the Simota Carbon Charger intake system. Suppose to improve high end torque. However, performance comes at the expense of noise...

The big black wolf is getting fiercer.....

Harrier logo for Toyota Wish

Raymond has a very nice Toyota Harrier logo on the bonnet. Too bad it was too dark to get a picture. These might be of interest to him for a more complete and total look.

Here's the rear logo. Perfect fit. This is not too difficult to get. Should even be available here.

And if the steering wheel logo on the SRS air bag is also replaced, all the Toyota logos will have been replaced. If the rear door garnished is changed to the plain type like the one above, some people won't even be able to tell what model and make it is.

This is taken from the Taiwan Wish, which is left hand drive. Both the steering wheel and meter are also different. This steering wheel is really getting to me. Tempting. Tempting

TRD announce the launch of their Autum/Winter collection.

List of new TRD Autum/Winter items.

Complete Catalogue here - Yet to be fully updated

Not a lot of new stuff. Mostly motorsports fashion items and some were actually available from a few months ago. But I'm sure this push start switch replacement kit will be of interest to Raymond...

Available many makes of Toyota vehicles like Camry, Estima, RAV4, Ractis, etc, etc....except Wish. As usual.

And for Justin, here are some design references for the upcoming sticker project. Go for it!!

Add on spoiler - Round type

Victor wanted to know about spoiler options and I mentioned that besides the one that I posted earlier, there is another add on version that is rounded. So here it is..

Top view

Basically, using double sided tape, you tape the following areas.

And this is what it will look like!

Cost about NT$2000 to NT$3000. Available in Taiwan. But if he is eventually considering a bodykit, then these would be such attractive options.

Swage Line Brake Hose

It's here. I'll be picking up the Swage Line Brake Hose from Plot. One of the better brake hose suppliers from Japan, with an anti knotting feature due to a swivel connector. I'll get it installed together with the TRD sportivo set probably in 2 to 3 weeks when I have the time.

More information at Plot's Website

No more spongy brakes!!

Just for fun

Whilst the Toyota Wish is fun and looks great, many a times, our pictures fail to do it justice. Anyway, here's something I did for fun on a lazy Sunday afternoon..

I think cleaner backgrounds make a better presentation for the cars. The profile of the car definitely stands out better. Also, it's best to watch out for the reflections when you are taking the pictures. Trees makes the car looks messy.

Perhaps it's time to do another car shoot for fun.

Leather Seats rectified!!

Went back to the workshop this morning to see what they can do to restore the leather. Surprisingly, it's not too difficult. Just a 2 hour job.

The stains were actually unevenly applied leather oil. Which explains why I could not clean it with water. Basically, they use a cleaning solution to remove the excess oil stains. At least now I don't have to change my leather seats. Money in the pocket again!

It think this poster is misleading. If they can't eliminate watermarks, they should not put it up. Anyway...

Add On Lip for PFL XS Front Bumper

Henry and I were looking at the Modellista add on lip for the Pre Face Lift XS model. Managed to see how it looks like here on a converted Taiwan Wish. Nice!! Seems like the other styling companies don't make this for the Toyota Wish. Even for the New Face Lift model, only Modellista has it.

However, leaving the add on lip in black might be more impactful instead of matching it back to body color. This is an option for me only if I consider the New Face Lift Aerosports bodykit.... we'll see.

Leather Seats Ruined

After 8 days, the leather seats are still horribly disfigured from the session at 3mendouz Shine. Heart pain indeed.

Have previously sent Andy a mail and he mentioned to have a look this weekend. Unfortunately, he is in Thailand and I have to deal with one of the worker, Ah Meng instead. Spoken to Ah Meng but he suggested that I go down next week instead. One excuse after another. Looks like this cheapskate paint protection will cost me more in terms of replacing the leather seats. Anyway, I go to their workshop on 1 Oct to have a look. Let's see if it can be rectified.

Red Third Brake Light

Lim helped me got my third brake light 'converted' to red in color. Easily done with a transparent red sticker, but the spoiler needs to be removed to get to the brake light. Now, both the rear tail lights and the brake lights are red.

Apparently, the effect was good and there were a few other Toyota Wish owners who decided to follow suit immediately after seeing it when Lim collected the car. James was one of them. However, for clear tail light owners, it's best to stick to the clear version. Much more matching. Here's what it looks like when viewed with the tail lights.

Door handle trims

Next item on the agenda...Door handle trims. Comes in a set of four for NT$990. About S$50. Available in carbon fibre, chrome or wood trimings.

Here's what it looks like when fixed up. Notice that there is a tweeter cover on the door. I think I'll go for the wood version, but still need it bring it for additional cubic printing to match it back to ash grey wood. Wonder what's the damage?

Third Brake Light Modification

Henry was telling me about this modification from Japan. This is the Taiwan version on the Taiwanese BBS from a chap called kiwi0906. New on the market.

The 15 LED scans as well as blink, depending if your parking light is on and if you step on your brakes. Procduces a combination of effects, but obviously works if you have the 15 LED brake light.

If it was up to me to choose, I would like the brake light to scan when I switch on the parking light. Blink when I step on brakes (currently, it blinks then scans). And scans again when I switch off the parking lights.

Cheers,
