Heard from the folks yesterday that it's possible to buy a replacement ECU (Engine Control Unit) from Japan that's not 'watered down'. Pretty common for Honda Civic and the likes, but seems like it's not that common for Wish yet. Seems like the original part number to order is 89661-68010 for Toyota Wish with 1ZZ-FE engine.
Apparently, it can unlock the car's full potential that was previously restricted by the Japan regulations and further reduced by LTA standards. That's why our Wish have only up to 180 km/h on our speedometer, unlike the Thai versions that goes up to 240 km/h.
Wonder how much that will cost and when it will be available.....Alternatively, there's the piggy back ECU O-bit. Seems to add 50 horsepower to the ride too. Tempting.
